I agree with this approach if you like the Quattro-Fil, which is a fine cable. I sold the 1 meter pair for $700 on A-Gon, and my 2 meter pair for $850 to a gentleman who is having me send it to Nordost for cutting and reterminating into two one meter pairs (don't know what that's running him, but I figure it's in your ballpark, you could call Nordost and ask). BTW, I'm replacing the 2 meter run with the HMS suggested below, as I like the tonal balance of the HMS a little better than the Q-F (a little richer in the mids, with most, if not all, of the transparency and detail of the Q-F); that would also be a viable alternative to consider, although if you like the Nordost, I think the used/retermination route is a really good way to go.
