After breakin I found the SQ 80B and FTM4 to be really, really smooth. The FTM3 I own is smooth also but is slightly thin, bright?, less smooth sounding then the others, so I'd try before you buy that one. If you find Siltech to be forward it's either not broken in or there's another component in the system that's the culprit.Next move is the cheapest G5 (HA!) I can get into. Probably the Forbes Lake IC and whatever the entry level speaker cable is. Even though I really love my LS180 G3. It's really smooth and the best cable I've heard up until G5. I've heard the middle G5 speaker cable in an audition and I'm not sure if I would want to part with my LS180 yet. I have to listen more.
