Just52, I have 3.6R's and I know what your talking about regarding percieved brightness. The "brightness" stems from the fact that the Maggies are very extended and revealing, combined with the fact that the metal connectors and jumpers supplied with them must be removed first. I use the Cardas jumper kit wires for my crossover, and then I went with a custom pair of NBS Omega jumpers for the tweeter attenuation section on each panel. All of the exaggerated HF garbage went away and purity remained with no audible rolloff:O) As far as copper vs silver goes, silver remains a go to product when a dull system needs augmentation in the HF domain, but does not add actual real detail...it simply favors those frequencies more. I have found my MIT cables to deliver an entirely new dimension and level of excitement for me! The Maggies are capable of so much more than you may realize when connected properly. Conventional cabling is a mixed bag with severe limitations on it's ultimate performance. MIT (Gen 3 in particular), presents such a dynamic, huge and detailed soundscape with such natural ease and tonality that once experienced you will be unable to return to conventional cables....I know, I've owned and auditioned many other brands at great expense, but there is no denying the vast improvements MIT offers a well tuned system!!
