Your statement is like saying "Why doesn't everyone use my prescription for THEIR glasses!". The point being, there are relatively few absolutes in high end audio, and even fewer when you start talking about cables and tweaks. No one will EVER agree on a "correct" conductor that is the best for everyone, or correct speaker for everyone, or amplifier, etc... Expecting a magic formula suitable for everyone is trying to fit a square peg into many holes with many shapes/sizes. Consider that no two people's hearing response/room/setup/listening preferences is identical, and then you'll understand why every audiophile's ultimate setup is a personal journey that ONLY THEY can attain for themselves. It's awesome that you have been able to evaluate the silver/copper cables for yourself, and anybody who would argue that you didn't hear correctly or question your preference is likely peeing into the wind, IMHO. However, you must also allow that many, many people prefer copper wire for their systems. Tubes vs. SS, ribbons vs. cones, vinyl vs. digital, SET vs PP, Ford vs. Chevy... These debates will never end, because there is no correct answer that will ever suit everybody. It sure is fun to talk about though :-)On a side note, here's a really cool experiment to illustrate the FACT that we can hear the identical sound, yet come to different conclusions. Our history, including the tone of our parents voice, language, and other factors seem to have an influence on this.
Just hit the hyperlink and allow the applet to load. Then use the pull down menu to listen to the two tones. You'll hear the sequnce start with a lower or higher pitch and then alternate with high/lower pitch. The order in which we hear these pithces can vary from individual to individual. Pretty cool illusion, and something I think is one of the great untold stories in high end audio: How the brain filters what our ears hear...
BTW, when I listen to this tone at 100 Hz, I hear the 1st tone as the higher pitch. At 160Hz, the lower pitch is first.
