12 years ago, it was yours truly who stuck XLO Signature 1.1 on the Sony Playstation (unmodded at that!), and discovered that the modest PS1 was capable of thrilling sound. All along, it was the cable which was holding the PS1 back.
I caught a lot of flak for that, and the vitriol rose, when I used XLO's Limited Edition and Tara Labs' ISM The One on the PS1.
The differences in interconnects ranged from subtle to obvious. And it didn't take trained ears to hear them. My non-audiophile friends could recognize the how the splendor and majesty of the Final Fantasy soundtrack changed with each interconnect.
But in order to hear the true character of each cable, you really need a Cable Cooker, above. In fact, a requirement of Nordost Odin is that it be placed on the VIDAR burn-in device, prior to the customer taking receipt of the cable. That should be a requirement of ALL cables!
