I am the very happy owner of a pair of Silversmith IC's, having replaced a pair of Cardas Golden Ref IC's which themselves were no slouches. The Silversmiths seem to provide all the benfits of silver cables with few or none of the disadvantages. Resolution is greater, bass tighter and deeper and the soundstage has grown vertically and horizontally. I have heard none of the harshness of etching sometimes assoiciated with silver cable.
That said, system matching is critical. I use a tube preamp (hovland HP 100) to a Krell FPB 300cx power amp to Siverline Sonatina II's. If you have a highly resolving sustem to begin with (e.g., SS power and pramp with Thiel speakers or the like), these IC's may not be for you.
Note that Galen Carol Audio in San Antonio sells these IC's and will allow a trial period. Galen also is extremely knowledgeable and soft sell.
