Had I been able to get away with 30k for the G5, it would have been a tough decision for me. But in my case we are talking 80k for cables here. I am sure even you feel that his is a mammoth amount of money for cables.
Even if the cables were made of pure gold (I could have bought 8 Kilo of 24kt gold for that money) this is a colossal price tag just for cables. I want to see the person who would not agree with me here and who is ready or has spent 80k just on cables.
In my system, I was lucky enough to get away with a tenth of the costs for about 90% of the performance. I can live comfortably with that.
And even if you do not drive, I am sure you would know where to spend 70k better elsewhere than investing in cables.
I mean, with all due respect to our crazy hobby, somewhere we need to draw a line, especially since with minor compromises we can save big at times.
