RE: Best Inexpensive AC cables

If I may ask ...- some say gauge appropriate for device. Would a 10 awg power cord be too thick for an LPs (12v 7a)? Reason why I'm using it is because it's an unused spare. A friend said it's gonna sound too bassy. Your thought? Anyone? Thanks.
