Its me, the audiophool husband again. Good points raised below.No slam intended against Empirical Audio. If I hadn't heard the Silver Audio cables in immediate comparison, I would have been impressed by the Empirical Audio cables' smoothness and lack of obvious coloration. I do have a telegraphic style, left over from years in industry, and I apologize to any inmates and Empirical Audio if I came across as too abrupt.
Regarding Kathleen Battle, her recording is an excellent test vehicle precisely because she is all woman, and puts a lot of her soul in what she sings. Her rendition of Eternal Source on that disc is to die for! However, she undertakes too much on some songs, and a revealing system should make it clear that she is struggling. That is what I meant by stating that she does not sound like a sweet young girl.
