hi diatonic,the Valhalla speaker cable was the "next best" speaker cable i was considering. it was and is a GREAT speaker cable, the best i had heard and i was hopeing that it was in the ballpark of the Opus.
it wasn't close and i bought the Opus. i still believe the Valhalla is "in the ballpark" with any other speaker cable but there are a few i haven't heard.
i have not heard the G5 Siltech but i have a friend that has both the Valhalla and the G5 Siltech Compass Lake and he slightly prefers the Siltech although he likes the combo of Valhalla and Siltech better than all-Valhalla or all-Siltech. at that level of interconnect i think it becomes a taste and balance issue as much as a performance issue. i do believe the Valhalla interconnects offer relatively good value verses other very expensive interconnects and i have been very happy with them in my system.
someday, i would like to try the Opus interconnects as i am told they are better than the speaker cables. my imagination has a hard time with that one though.
