If it has twin conductors, make sure you only ground the shield at the source end.I believe that 50% of the sound is the type and quality of the terminations. If you do a good job there and route the wire away from any power wires (if you must cross a power wire do so at a 90 degree angle with as much space between the wires as possible), it will probably sound great!.
