I would not connect this cable to your unit unless the subwoofer is not grounded. It will short the - (pin3) output to ground. This probably will not damage the output driver immediately, but may have long-term effects. If your subwoofer has a grounded chassis (through the power cord), then this will short pin 3 of the balanced output to ground.

As was mentioned, if the balanced output is transformer-coupled, then shorting pin 3 to ground will not damage anything. You can use the cable provided. Contact the manufacturer of the CD55 to find out if this is the case.

The safe thing to do is use pin2 from the balanced output for signal and pin1 from the balanced output for the ground return for an RCA Single-ended cable adapter.
