When i make these cables i use 36 AWG bare silver for hot and 30 AWG for ground. I fold the last 1" of the 36 AWG wire 4 times and twist it together to form a more substantial wire to solder to the connector. The best connector i found to work with are the Eichman bullets. The locking connectors are just a pain because you cannot cover most of the connector with adhesive lined HS like it was recommended by others. The cable most often fails at the conenctor tube interface. Other than that you must remember that this is still a very stiff cable. need at lest 6-8" behind your components, otherwise you will kink the tubing and break the fine wires. Definitely test them with a multimeter before connecting. I blew a set of regulators in my Pass X1 with a sorted cable.dee
