AC Power Cord construction question

Welcome! Need support, you got it. Or share you ideas and experiences.

I'm building some more AC power cords using the Belden 19364 that has a shield and drain wire.
(this is the same wire used in the Bottlehead cable kit, but I'm using different plugs)

What do you guys do with the shield drain wire?
I attach it to the ground at the male end of the cable but not at the component end.

Is that the best way to construct this cord?
