This may or may not be an issue with the Foreplay III that I got running yesterday.
I'm hearing a ground loop hum (not real loud) on 2 of the inputs, but not on the CD player input if the CD player is on.
If the CD player is off, all 3 hum.
If I unplug either the power cord or the interconnects of the CD player, the hum goes away.
The CD player (Marantz SA-11S1) does NOT have a grounded IEC outlet, just 2 blades, no ground. (I thought it was weird too)
If I connect a wire from the CD player's cover screw to the Foreplay's transformer mounting screw, or the outer shell of any of the other 2 inputs RCA's, the hum goes away.
The AC cords grounds for the Paramount amps are disconnected which was necessary with the old pre-amp to eliminate noise.
All components are plugged into the same Audience power conditioner.
So, other than pulling the plug on the CD when not in use, or stringing a wire between it and the Foreplay, is there a solution to this problem?
TIA
