Tell me if this is possible...
I'd like to make a Foreplay III with a line out or monitor out using the second pair of pre-out jacks.
My goal is to feed a headphone amp from the pre-amp, be able to select the different inputs with the pre-amp, and not have the pre-amp on when I'm using the headphone amp.
In other words, have the FP III function as a switch box when it's off.
Can I simply take the output from the selector and run it to one of the pair of jacks?
Will having a headphone amp connected to the pre-amp affect the operation of the pre-amp?
The reason I ask, is if I leave my headphone amp connected to the tape out of my existing pre-amp, I get a distorted signal out of the pre-amp when using speakers. I contacted the manufacturer and he told be it was because the tape out was not buffered so the headphone amp appeared as a parallel load. Removing the amp solved the problem, but now I'm back there swapping cables when I want to change from speakers to headphones.
BTW, I may be replacing the headphone amp with a SEX amp, so take that into consideration also.
