If you are willing to DIY, I'd take a look at Ron Clarke's Dallas II (Fostex FE206E) and Austin rev G (FE166E) rear-loaded designs. They are reasonably-sized, and I believe would get you low enough to use a single sub, or no sub at all depending. PDF files are available at the link. They've gotten a lot of positive feedback from builders.
