If you build the ParaS.E.X then why not build your speaker too. Here is one design I heard with an SE amp based with 45 tube (giving about 2 w per channel).The speakers are simple vented boxes tuned at 55 hz with an internal volume of 770 cubic inch. The woofers are the famous Vifa P13WH-008 (same one as in the Ariels from Lynn Olson). The tweeter is, please do not laugh, the Linaeum ribbon tweeter sold by Radio Shack!! You just screw that sucker on top of the enclosure put it in serie with a simple 3.3 to 4.7 uF (according to your taste) and bingo...
To my ears, those simple speakers will beat anything under $1500. The mids and the highs are outstanding. Bass won't wake up your neighbors but is really clean. Those speakers will cost about $300 CDN ($200 US) to build if you go nuts and mount it in a bi-wire configuration
