Tough to tell from your post....

....what is it that you seek exactly...?

I have owned a Krell int amp (300i), have owned Rotel separates and currently own a Rotel receiver for the small system in our den/kitchen.

Krell v. Rotel is apples v. oranges.

Rotel is "polite" and musical while Krell is more dynamic with better base and drive. (British sound v. USA sound.) There ARE amps that do both - especially with your B&Ws. Personally, I would opt for an integrated amp, pocket some of the $$ or spend it on a better source.

Buy a used Krell 300i on Audiogon and see if you like the sound. Get a good cdp. What's your budget there? Many great units to choose from in the $750 - $1,500 range.

Some int amps to ponder that - imho - combine the best traits of Rotel and Krell:

Musical Fidelity - around $1,500 I think.
Plinius
Unison Unico hybrid

If you are more specific about what you seek, you will get more applicable replies.

Don't gorget about decent cables.
DH Labs or Analysis Plus are killer values.
