I had an original, not R, Rocket. I changed my OEM KT 88s for Svetlana, now SED, and was happier. Now I would most likely go with Electro Harmonix KT88s. Do a search about them on the "Tube" forum. I changed my 6922s to early 60s NOS Siemens and was happy . If you can find a pair of early 60s "halo getter" Amperex 6922 PQ, they may be better .
I once tried a quad of NOS Phillips 6CA7s in my Rocket, but the loss of power was so great that I sold them. My speakers at that time were B&W N804s.
