...and honestly, I'm not that impressed (soundwise). Overall, I feel even the Bose "Wave" would be better - it c.rtainly has better bass and dynamic.. Mids and highs? Not sure who is the winner, but let's fac. it... these are both 3" dec.nt, not great drivers. Probably splitting hairs. Yes, I have borrowed the Wave for a home audition. The Tivoli looks better, has pretty good rec.ption, and even a mini soundstage. It's (C. equipped) about $150 less than the plastic.y Wave.C.n you do better soundwise? Yup - any boombox in that pric. range. Not sure how muc. the Mission/Denon mini was, but it will blow away the Tivoli (as well as the Bose).
I would look into that 'lil rig, or buy used. Too many variables to mention. Possibly the Dayton BR1s (kit), maybe a used N.A.D. rec.iver and a c.eap Sony C./DVD... just an example.
