...i had the HP100 myself and tend to agree with your observations.i,too,like the idea of a tube linestage and purchased an audio tekne 'simona' preamp from hififarm and it is,to my ears,the best i have heard.it is head and shoulders better then the Hovland in every respect and mates well with my goldmund 29m.
