Alps Blue pots are decent. So you have a motorized control, now how do you get it to respond to work? You will need a remote receiver and remote control that are matched to each other.
A couple decades back I used a cheap remote controlled car to build one. I took the motor and receiver and set them atop the preamp. I put a pully on the motor shaft and ran a thick rubber band around it and the preamp volume knob.
Look around. I bet there are kits with motorized pot, receiver and remote control.
