RE: Help picking an amp when I can't audition it.

I would recommend Wyred4Sound class D. As a SET amp guy and someone who hated class D amps in the past I think these amps would serve you well. They come with 5-year warranties have a lot of power and sound better than any class A/B Solid State amplifiers I have tried for the same money and many for considerably more money. I consider them a pretty big bargoon.

They offer quite high power for the money. They offer an in-home trial period - 30 days.

I own the mAmp monoblocks and have been pleased with their performance. They also sounded excellent with the Audio Note M1 preamp I am reviewing which is a tube preamp for around $2500. The AN Tube preamp is largely responsible for the sound quality while the Wyred4Sound power amps do not get in the way. It's a surprisingly good combination.

I almost bought some big-name SS amplifiers but I am glad I didn't. Because they sell direct the prices are somewhat lower than makers selling through B&M.

Worth a look.
