It is a vintage preamp getting on for 50 years old so noise (are we really just talking hiss?) may be an issue particularly given the technology of that era compared to modern designs. The issue will be exaggerated if you are using sensitive loudspeakers and/or the phono input with the preamp being run flat out or nearly so.
The real issue is do you notice hiss at normal listening levels ?
