How do bleeder resistors render your extra capacitor/joule current delivery experiment invalid???
You're aware that bleeders have been used for capacitor discharge long before "modern amps", right? They were commonplace in old TV and communications gear many decades ago.
And, in fact, most modern (solid-state) audio power amplifiers don't use bleeder resistors. :)
