Next Question: What Does an Average Non Golden Ear (or wallet) Listener Get from Mono's over Stereo?

So, one of the amps I'm looking is available as a single stereo amp, or if you buy two a monoblock pair by flipping a switch. The single stereo gives 51 watts and the mono bumps that to about 100. Other than the increased power, which some say I need, what does a monoblock set up offer me, the non golden eared listener who's space is well, let's just say compromised and not ideal.
