Hexfred vs SIC diodes

What is your experience which rectifier sounds better? It been a few years and no conclusion was posted at AA. I know some Hexfred are reported to not sound good, my post is referring to good sounding Hexfred that are the majority. Either newer diode is likely a good upgrade to vintage gear.

BTW- the Hexfred and SIC (Schottky) diodes have higher forward voltage drop vs standard diodes. You can likely get away with no heatsink up to a 15 watt per channel amp/receiver (Hexfred only), but above 15 watts per channel I would use the 1/2 size TO-220 heatsink from 15 watts to 50 watts per channel and a full size TO-220 heatsink above 50 watts to 100 watts per channel. I am not sure of the 270 watt per channel Pioneer SX-1980 if two full size back to back TO-220 heatsink is enough. CIS (Schottky must run cool due to high leakage current. I guess any amp of even 15 watts per channel must have the 1/2 size heatsink and perhaps ok to 50 watts per channel. The hotter a Schottky operates the higher the leakage current.
