RE: switching between multiple amps?

yes but how to get the one source switched into either one or the other amp depending on which amp is selected? seems I need another box?

Or couly I use "Y" adapters and split the single source output into permanent amp inputs to each amp?

Would the permanent electrical connection from one source into the inputs of two different amps influence the sound when either one or the other amp was powered up and playing?
