RE: RIP Tim de Paravicini

As a continuing user of one of Tim's designs (868PL) over many years I am so sorry to learn of his passing.

I last spoke with him a couple of years ago when I phoned the factory with a technical question about the phono stage in the 868. He was in an expansive mood and I enjoyed a verbal "tour" from him of the cartridge manufacturers in Japan. Absolutely fascinating and probably obtainable from few other westerners.

Most people in this hobby or in the professional sphere know that he was an audio equipment designer with a unique gift. Although EAR Yoshino will continue to be run by his son, Tim's special talent will be hard or impossible to emulate or replace.

R.I.P indeed.
