RE: McIntosh MA6200 Lost Left Channel

I have a different view, give it a shot. One of my favorite things to do is to fix stuff. I usually don't care what it is, although I prefer it to be something I haven't worked on before. To give an idea of range, one day last summer I worked on a tractor in the morning and a hearing aid in the afternoon.

HiFi, one of my first jobs was working for a TV repair shop, which also worked in HiFi, then I did service for a small chain of HiFi stores. What I tell people is that about 90% of the time it is something really simple.

You obviously have an interest, so give it a shot. Plus people here and in Audio Karma will help. There is at least one guy there that is really good. To get started, take off covers and look around. Clean controls and switches with DeOxit or similar, let it sit a day, sometimes DeOxit takes some time to work. And be sure to well exercise the controls after spraying, and again a few hours later.

If problem persists as others post, isolate to preamp or amp section...
