I hear that. Over time, I've come to learn that most Tannoys (especially their classic designs) prefer both PP tube amps, and preferably more than 60 watts to get them into a mechanical zone where they move freely and respond well to musical signals.
I don't think the Aleph 3 or 30 would have been good for them. Maybe for compression drivers or single-driver designs. Or just less driver mass! Seems you found that too.
