possibly. What type of "synchronous" motor do you have? induction startup winding, hysteresis, something else?
If you want to use an audio amplifier you will probably need to step up the voltage being fed to the motor. Also you may need to add ballast resistors in series with the coils to present the amp an impedance that wont cause it to smoke.
