RE: Need help with passive bass boost

Credit to this guy who derives the math for two stage riaa equalization filters. One implementation shows one of the two stages using a, so called, Parallel/Series passive circuit to achieve a low frequency pole and midrange shelf as required in RIAA applications. By omitting the second stage high frequency pole, used in RIAA networks, and manipulating the use of the formulas to compensate for taste you could use these formulas to come up with a circuit.

You could substitute the desired corner frequency of the 6dB bass "boost" for the 50.05Hz pole and the desired corner frequency of the -6dB midrange/treble "shelf" for the 500.5Hz zero into the formulas from the derivation and get a circuit that does you are talking about, I think.

This circuit would, for all practical purposes, if designed properly, have zero insertion loss at low frequency and, depending on what frequencies you set the the pole and zero, the amount and frequency of the bass "boost" can be tweaked.
