True - and that leads to the problems of driving both s/s powered subs and tube amps. The high-z output (300-ohms I think) is good for driving tube amps and comes off the line amp tube, before the buffer stage. It sounds better than the buffered output, but is limited to shortish ICs. The buffered outputs can drive anything, through any length ICs. It's pretty handy.
