I don't recommend plugging the amplifier into a 15-amp circuit, especially if you intend to conduct power testing. However, you asked if it would be okay. My position is that if it never trips the circuit breaker, then it's obviously okay. However, never did I suggest that a 15-amp circuit was preferable to the intended 20-amp circuit. Victor is reacting like I'm recommending the 15-amp circuit over the intended 20-amp circuit, which is not the case at all. On the other hand, if the 15-amp circuit is operating correctly and the circuit breaker never trips, then it is certainly okay to use the 15-amp circuit from the standpoint that no harm will come to the amplifier or to the 15-amp circuit. Furthermore, it's even possible that the amplifier will sound just as good, too.
Best regards,
John Elison
