Chip amps are incredibly efficient and very musical, much better than any Class D I've heard (and owned). You might be surprised how little you miss your tubes! I gave mine up permanently with no regrets. Look for LM3886 chip, probably the best, but there are others. If you visit Audiogon or DIY Audio, you might find a nice one for sale.
