I can get what I need in Russian FT-3 Teflon caps off eBay for around $100.

Is that my best choice in capacitors even if I were willing to spend up to $300.

These are part of the active RIAA compensation network and it's an all direct coupled circuit.

The Russian caps are massive and are completely a compromise from a layout standpoint but I can manage those details if they really are the best bang for the buck in my budget.

I was right on the edge of pulling the trigger with all polystyrene's and then this invisible little Russian Teflon capacitor dude sitting on my shoulder kept nagging me....

What are those who don't have the fatest wallets doing for caps when low distortion is the goal?
