The Cary 302 uses 4 6SL7 tubes. 2 for head amp gain, 2 for Riaa EQ and amp stage gain. Cary suggested I try 6sn7s for the head amp tubes because they have lower gain ( mu=20 vs. 70 for 6SL7).
