The SLI-80 volume knob position, with 6SN7s used as the head amp tubes in the 302, went to 7:30 or 8'ish position from a 7 o'clock position when all 6SL7s were used in the 302.
It was a positive change in the sense of reduced gain but it was a very small reduction in gain.
