RE: Is there a way to check amplifier output at the speaker terminals ?

There is an easier way: (Never try to measure a power amp without a load, if its oscillating you would never know, and most cheap meters would just go wonky if an amp was oscillating).

Power off amps and preamp, and:

1. Reverse the right and left preamp outs to the amps, if the level difference swaps sides, its the PREAMP that is out of balance. IF imbalance stays put, it's an amp or speaker.

2. Restore right and left preamp output cables, and now swap right and left amps. IF the problem moves to the other channel, it's an amp or speaker, and you can easily swap speaker wire to the opposite channels, I hope as your final check.
