Sounds like more elimination excercise is in order. Even then perhaps the problem is the Kef LS-50s needing some warmth that the Emotiva does not provide. If that is so, it doesn't mean that the USP-1 is deficient, just means that it is a little too flat (as in neutral) for your tastes or your Kef speakers.
