hi folks,

own a brand new Rogue ATLAS MAGNUM (KT120) since thursday - great stuff! no doubt about. it was a "blind date", i had no chance to inspect or test it in audition before.
i expeceted that american made gear (exept mc intosh) is a little bit "cheesy" as frank zappa once stated but this amp is built like a tank and sounds great right out of the box - after you have changed that JJ small tubes! (ECC803s, ECC82. they are definitely rubbish!). the atlas sounds better than my MC275 MkIV i had before (faster, more crispy) and even better than my Ocatve RE280 MkII which was playing on the cool (cold), soulless side. may be after 50-100 hours the ATLAS can compare with my Welter mono amps or even knocks them out. (difficult for a stereo amp...).
i will soon try my Ei KT90 type II also but will first have to macht them.

what i critizise is the power transformer which runs warm up to hot after several hours of audition. cheap type, low effectiveness. right? furthermore the tube sockets have no strain reliefs on the motherboard. (internally a bit cheesy after all?)
