Aren't these just class A/B amps with a high bias in Class A?
Just? No these amps are designed to run continuously at high Class A power levels and are thermally monitored to reduce the bias if temperatures exceed a safe level. This switching, if it occurs at all, is silent and audibly undetectable.Don't all amps operate in Class A to a point?
Of course there are other classes of amps, but most amps are class A/B but with only enough class A bias to avoid zero crossing distortion. What makes Emotiva special?
They are designed to operated highly biased into class A with appropriate fanless cooling and with over temperature avoidance circuitry.
