The transformers are the same in the Cronus and Cronus Magnum: they are not changed. Caps are changed and the power supply is increased.
I owned the Cronus and had it upgraded to the Magnum. There is a significant difference in sound between the units with the Magnum being much better. My review further down the page goes into details of how.
The KT90s are a touch analytical: the KT120s are not. They are big, rich and bloomy (but not bloated).
The KT66s are superb: clear, linear and with a touch of sweetness.
The small tubes - drivers and phase splitters included - make a big difference in the sound;
which allows precise tailoring of the sonic signature.
