Good advice! Whenever I change tubes in my Rogue Stereo 90 I turn the bias pots way down and then bring them back up slowly when the new tubes are in.
I recomend the OP try a KT66 or 6L6GC in his amp. They should work fine in a EL 34 amp and bias at the same level. These are the output tubes that sound best in my Rogue amp.
