If I remember correctly from the 80s when I used/sold it, the 405-2 was a polarity-inverting amp.
Of course it had flat frequency response in the human-hearing range, but I don't remember it being particularly extended.
As was normal for Peter Walker's ss components, it was voiced very nicely. Not harsh or thin.
