Home Amp/Preamp Asylum

Looking for a new Amp or Preamp? If you're after tubes, post over here.

Agree w/Dman, except maybe...

When I worked there in the 70s, for best sound, we liked 55ma on the low side and 60-65ma on the high side.

However, there's no doubt the tubes won't last as long.

I might suggest comparing 50ma & 60ma and see what you prefer, absolute best sound or better tube life.

I wish I could say how much shorter the tube life would be at 60ma, but I don't actually know.

Best regards,

Jim Smith
