I've learned to never say never, but in general, it'd be very unusual for a liquid to convert your LS10 to mono. It could convert it to no sound and/or no power, but not normally to mono.ARC products with a couple of outputs per channel make it possible to inadvertently hook up both left or both right outputs, resulting in a mono sound. I've seen this done by some pretty savvy people. People that you have probably heard of...
When you go back to check, as you did, if you originally misinterpreted the labeling so that you mistakenly connected to two right or two left outputs, there is a chance you may read it that way again. Again, I've actually seen it happen with industry folks. On the LS10, the common error is to plug into the 1st & 3rd outputs, or perhaps the 2nd & 4th.
This could also happen with input sources that have multiple outputs, or stereopower amps that have a bridging switch that has been inadvertently moved to mono/bridged.
Guess I'm saying that I'd definitely look one more time for a more obvious physical thing rather than expecting cat urine to effect a switch to mono.
If it turns out that it was indeed due to cat urine, please do post that info, as it'd be worth knowing.
Best regards,
Jim Smith
