Yes, I can imagine that for a bedroom you would like better detail at lower levels.
Questions:
1. What are the sources? Speakers?
2. What is your budget?
3. Have you listened to the various Jolida tube integrateds?
4. Do you necessarily want something new? There are some interesting tube integrateds (Scott 299) and receivers (Fisher 400/500/800, McIntosh 1900) that might be very pleasant for a bedroom system. And simply buying the right used stuff could be the way to get where you're going.
